Yes. LASIK is one of the most studied elective procedures ever performed, with a safety record built over 30+ years of clinical data. At Florida Eye Custom Vision (formerly Maida Custom Vision — the first practice to perform LASIK in Northeast Florida, in 1996), we use computer-guided WaveLight EX500 excimer lasers that remove tissue in increments of 39 millionths of an inch per pulse.
