How long does the LASIK procedure take?

The laser treatment itself takes under 60 seconds per eye. From the time you sit in the procedure chair to the time you’re done, the entire process is typically 15 to 20 minutes for both eyes. You’ll spend more time in pre-op preparation — receiving numbing drops, a mild relaxant if desired, and final measurements — than you will under the laser. Most patients are genuinely surprised by how fast it goes. Plan for approximately two hours total at our Jacksonville facility when you factor in check-in, preparation, the procedure, and a brief post-operative review before you leave.
